The determined Dubs take the champions into extra time

All-Ireland and National League Champions, Kilkenny had to battle all way through extra time before getting the better of Dublin in this Leinster championship clash
From the throw-in the home side were flying. They were awarded a free which the goalkeeper pointed.
Kilkenny drew level on the 5th minute when Sarah Kent set up Julieann Malone to fire over a point off her left.
Miriam Walsh won the puck out and shot a fine point before Niamh Rock (D) levelled matters when she pointed a free.
Another point from a placed ball saw the Dubs in point at 3 points to 2 points on 15 minutes.
Again Miriam Walsh was in the frame as she pounced on a breaking ball to splitting the posts.
Meighan Farrell (K) and Niamh Rock (D) exchanged points in quick succession, the latter from a placed ball.
Dublin took the lead again in the 21st minute when their ace sharpshooter shot over the bar from a free.
Danielle Morrissey grabbed two points from placed balls and in between Sarah Kent scored a fine point after being set up by Denise Gaule
These exchanges left Kilkenny leading by two points at the break, 0-7 to 0-5
On the restart both sides missed chances and it took 13 minutes passed before the first score of the half was landed. The honour was taken by Emma Flanagan for the home side when she scored a fine point.
Shortly after Danielle Morrissey pointed from a placed ball, followed by one from Siobhan Keogh.
The same player shot to the net shortly after to give the home side the lead, 0-8 to 1-7.
Denise Gaule scored a point after receiving a pass from Meighan Farrell.
Ann Dalton drew the sides level when she pointed a long range free.
The referee blew the full time whistle shortly afterwards and the game went to extra time
In the first period of extra time it took seven minutes before the scoring stalemate was broken.
Kilkenny were awarded a penalty. The shot was blocked out for a 45, which Danielle Morrissey pointed.
Katie Power (K) fired over a point soon after and again the Dubs free taker Niamh Rock replied with a point just on half time of extra time.
Kilkenny led 0-12 to 1-8.
In the second period, the visitors shot three unanswered points through free taker Danielle Morrissey before the home side’s keeper came forward to shoot over the final score.
The home side were given an opportunity to level the game when the referee awarded a 20 metre free in the dying seconds but the ball was cleared of the line by Davina Tobin
